The one and only Adris Hoyos.

(The idea behind this series is to let the individual artworks speak directly to us from their own mysterious realm, rather than interpreting and ‘explaining them away’ in conventional terms.)

Harry Pussy were an extreme noise trio from Miami, operating in the 1990s. The central figure was the drummer/vocalist Adris Hoyos, a one-of-a-kind exploding powerhouse hellcat whose utterly distinctive vocal and drumming style gave shape to the group’s sound. This is not to denigrate the contributions of the others, such as guitarist Bill Orcutt, but simply to point out that without Adris there would not be a Harry Pussy worth getting into a sweat and writing home about. Watch the clips and see this for yourself.

(This was edited from a suitably poor quality VHS — the second clip went mysteriously dark at the start, but it seemed to be telling me something so I left it as it was.)
